Michael Sawlor, a Sydney, Nova Scotia native, graduated from the Nova Scotia Community College Lunenburg Campus in 2010 with an Architectural Drafting Diploma. Immediately following graduation, Mr. Sawlor accepted the position of Architectural Draftsperson with Trifos Design.

Throughout his time at the NSCC, Mr. Sawlor was accredited with various awards and accomplishments including; graduating with honours, being accredited with multiple awards for assisting his peers, and being selected as the Valedictorian of the NSCC Lunenburg Campus Class of 2010. Mr. Sawlor, also, participated in several workshops, some of which are as followed:

  • Documentation for Conservation and Protection Historic Place Workshop (2009)
  • Introduction to Conservation and Understanding the Historic Place Workshop (2009)
  • Project Planning with the Standards and Guidelines for the Conservation of Historic Places in Canada Workshop (2009)

Mr. Sawlor worked as a student Draftsperson with Ojolick Associates in Sydney, Nova Scotia for a four month NSCC work co-op during the summer months in 2009. Prior to his enrolment at the NSCC, Mr. Sawlor worked several positions at Stephen's Building Supplies (Rona) in Sydney. He has worked closely with builders and contractors, as well as, building material suppliers and distributors.

Mr. Sawlor's experiences have assisted in his understanding all aspects of the construction industry including building material distribution, knowledge of a wide range of building materials and their suppliers and manufacturers, construction project management, local building material technologies, local building techniques, basic supply and demand principles, and a greater understanding of issues that builders and general contractors face everyday.

Mr. Sawlor is involved with a variety of tasks typical of the technical services provided by an architectural-consulting firm. He is also involved in the preparation of conceptual renderings, information management, building materials sourcing and selections, and contract drawing working documents for Trios Design Consultants' principal projects. Mr. Sawlor is also directly involved with the creation and management of Trifos Design Consultants current website.
