Trifos Design Consultants was commissioned by the Nova Scotia Community College to create a unique and stimulating student environment for the Marconi Campus Student Lounge.
Dramatic, flying bulkheads; bold colours; overlapping patterns; and asymmetry are some of the design devices utilized to confront and challenge the ordinary and conventional.
The exuberance of complex forms and provocative physical shapes attempt to stimulate and engage the viewer. By blurring the boundaries of conventionalism through radical expressionism, the design seeks to encourage innovative thinking and creative philosophizing among the students. By rejecting conventional decorating devices, the design transforms and deconstructs the notion of space, as it is typically imagined.
